Do you like Cashmere?

I do, very much.  For me the biggest issue is the price – I find it prohibitive for stash enhancement purposes.  Especially for a big-project, must-make-a-giant-stole person like me (my current stole is almost 6 foot and still growing – don’t ask).

So I have been searching for a high-end cashmere that is beautiful and affordable (no mill end, 2nd or 3rd quality, on the cone in bits and pieces stuff).  This search has been going on for a while and finally we have a 2-ply 100% cashmere and a 2-ply cashmere silk blend that is ours, a Little Knits brand.  The colors I have been able to get in thus far are all naturals, natural white, beige and black.  If you like it as much as we do and want more there will be more in different colors.  I wish you could be here and feel this incredibly delicious yarn and of course, I hope our pricing will make you very happy.

Cashmere and Cashmere Silk Yarns Little Knits Both the 100% cashmere and the cashmere silk come in 50+ gram (2 ounce), hanks with approximately 400 yards of lace/fingering weight yarn.  Both the cashmere and cashmere silk knit beautifully with cashmere silk having a bit more drape and of course the slight silky sheen.  I will be listing both yarns under the All About Lace section this weekend.  Thought I would let you know and share my first photo. :)

Hope you are all well and knitting with a smile.

Do you remember…

Alpaca Silk Scarf Knit-along at Little Knits …this scarf?  I knit my sample a while ago with Peru Luxury DK and wanted to get some in and start a knit along.  The knit along may be a bit delayed but the yarn is here.  Peru Luxury DK is lovely.  It is soft, non-itchy and great when knitting garments that is meant to be worn next to skin.

Also you can use Peru Luxury DK as a substitute for Debbie Bliss’ Baby Cashmerino if you play with your needle size – I have.  Please note however, the fiber content is completely different and Peru Luxury DK is not machine washable while Baby Cashmerino is machine washable.  In addition, Peru Luxury DK has good memory, which results in garments that hold their shape well.  We have knitted with this yarn and we like it quite a bit so I thought I would give you a heads-up.

One quick note, we just received a large shipment of Hand Maiden’s Sea Silk, which will be posted tomorrow evening.  I am photographing everything again as the colors seem more vivid and very well done, which I wanted to show with new photos.  I hope you like them as much as we do.

Hope you are all well and knitting with a smile.

Lush the luscious

I allowed myself a rare stash enhancement moment because we got one of my long time favorites in, Classic Elite Lush.  Adding to the temptation was the fact that we received closeouts, this means the colors are closed out and will be gone for good once sold out.  I could not pass it up so I stashed away, may yarn gods forgive me!

Classic Elite Lush in Granite Rock Color at Little Knits If you have worked with Lush you already know the attributes of this beautiful yarn by Classic Elite.  But I will tell you that it has been priced well at 35% off for single skeins and 40% off full bags (10 skeins).  If you have never tried Lush this is the time and I cannot recommend your first trip to yarn heaven highly enough.  Try Lush, for mitts if you are not sure or a scarf…you will be hooked and spoiled for good.

For an unbiased review of this yarn you can go to Knitters Review.  And, to see our selection all you have to do is to click on to Classic Elite Lush.

Going to go play with my stash now and dream about the possibilities…what to knit, what to knit…

Sending good thoughts your way.

A New Sock Pattern & Sox Stix – Things that make me happy

Our in-home sock designer, Joanna Ryan (for those of you who call us often, Rebecca’s mom), designed a lovely sock pattern for with Austermann STEP.

Little Acorn Socks with Austerman STEP at Little Knits I was struck by the simple beauty of the “Little Acorn Socks” as well as their softness and generous length.  Joanna knitted this pair as a gift for a girl friend with larger than average feet (I believe the pictured socks were made for a shoe size 9-10), and still the socks go up almost to mid-calf.  In addition, this lovely pattern is topped with a picot edging that makes it extra-soft and feminine.  You can purchase a copy of Little Acorn Socks starting today and the color used for the photographed socks is Vanilla Plum in Chocolate, color #13.

Lantern Moon Sox Stix at Little Knits Also, did you know that we now carry Lantern Moon Sox Stix?  These lovely double pointed needles come in 5” lenght and they are offered in their individual organza baggies.  Each set has 5 needles and come in ebony, rosewood and blonde wood.  Currently we only carry ebony and blonde wood.  You can purchase Sox Stix today and purchases of 3 or more pairs ship free within the US with the ‘sox’ code to be used at checkout.

A final bit of news, we will be adding two new lines to our store’s yarn selection.  Soon you can see a selection of Jo Sharp and Tahki yarns and patterns at our store, with some surprise closeouts offered at great prices.

Hope you are all well and knitting with a smile.
