A Seattle Afternoon

If you like to run or walk or feel the need to exercise in general you may relate to some parts of this post. 

For me running and sometimes walking are like a cleansing process.  Without some amount of exercise I feel incomplete and if I am being frank, cranky.  It helps that Little Knits is only a 10-15 minute walk/run from the West Seattle beach and one can run right by the water.  It is simply beautiful.

There are days I just cannot get out early in the day and my mind plays a game; the later in the day I schedule my run/walk the less likely I am to do it.  So this afternoon at about 6 PM I did a mad dash out of the store and I was certain that I will be running or walking very soon.  Half an hour later I was on the porch eating a bowl of chips.  What, I was hungry!

This is when Mika’s Lillopop came in the picture.  Have you heard of the song?  If you have not I would highly recommend it.  There is something about that song that beats even a bowl of chips.  With that I was out of the door.  Five minutes into my run I was greeted by a metal rooster  How Roosters are made in Seattle  and right after a fountain full of hand-made glass balls Fountain full of glass  and a garden full of Dahlias.  Dahlias

From there down to Alki Beach I went.  15 minutes into my run at the beach sun started doing its thing and it was beautiful.  Alki at sunset

At the end of the beach an unusual sight, someone was fishing.  I stopped and took a photo and immediately after that his line started moving. Lone fisher  I did not see if he caught anything as he caught me photographing him and I did not want to bother him by hanging around.

From there I headed up Admiral hill to go back home, a rather long haul up at the end of a run but I had good music to keep me company.  And, I caught up and passed a mom pushing her twins in a pram!  So I am glad to have gotten my run in (more like a sluggish jog), and I am happy to be typing this post in my pjs.  I better stop now or on my second day I will fail at my goal of 30-posts-in-30-days.

  1. How can you not get happy and energized with that song! Love it!

    Love your pics–jealous of what you have so close! I have the issue with my workouts, if I don’t go 1st thing in the am, I have a hard time convincing myself I need to (after all, there’s knitting to be done) :)
